I created Lighter in 8 Weeks because I was looking for a way to lose weight without counting. I’d just had my son and I wanted to lose the 42 lbs I gained during my pregnancy without the emotional angst and time suck of counting calories or pushing too hard with my workouts.
As a full time employee, business owner, and a new mom, I didn’t have time for that. So I focused on making it easy to consistently practice the simplest habits that helped me lose the weight. Lighter in 8 Weeks is my way of sharing that with you.
I’m EJ, and I’m a Healthy Lifestyle Coach and founder of the Team by EJ. My goal here is to guide you to take simple – but consistent – actions towards healthy eating and exercise, so you can lose weight, feel stronger, and have a ton of energy to help you be more of the powerhouse you want to be.

How much time will I have to spend to get Lighter in 8 Weeks?
I get it. You’ve got so much going on that you’re very careful about adding to your plate, so here’s a breakdown of the time commitment. This way you can get proactive about making the time in your calendar instead of instinctively deciding you don’t have the time.
✔ Reviewing program material: about 20 minutes per week, and listening to the audio makes time fly by.
✔ Filling out Your Worksheets/Check Ins: Less than 30 minutes a week. Here’s a video showing you how easy to keep track of your actions in Your Private Accountability Portal.
✔ Working out: Three 30 Minute Sessions, for a total of 1.5 hours per week.
✔ Coaching calls: Once every two weeks as needed.
✔ Planning and prepping your meals: It depends. But you’ll learn how to plan healthy meals in as little as 20 minutes per week. And prepping can be as easy as buying the ingredients and cooking as you need to. Or you can do like I do, and cook your weekday breakfasts and just cook dinner (which doubles as lunch) each day. We’ll work together to find the right strategy for you.
✔ Changing How You Eat: Not much more than you spend right now. You’re not overhauling your diet. Instead you’re focusing on simple habits like paying attention to your hunger, shopping for the right ingredients, and using a simple framework to put your meals together to name a few.
